The Gardens at DePugh

October 26, 2020 – The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Liz Barton as the Nursing Home Administrator for The Gardens at DePugh Nursing Center located in downtown Winter Park, Florida.

Liz Barton is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator with more than 25 years of skillful service. Most recently, Liz was awarded the ‘Nursing Home Administrator of the Year” by the Florida Health Care Association .

Liz is a licensed Preceptor who trains other health care administrators and led her last facility to receive the 2017 Baldrige Bronze Award, Governors Gold Seal, and the CMS 5 Star rating. She received the Woman Extraordinaire award, along with multiple State of Florida Tax Watch Prudential Productivity awards. In addition, Liz sits on the Advisory Board of the Charlotte County Technical College of Health for Nursing Curricula and on the Florida Health Care Association’s Regulatory and Disaster committees. She is also serving as Vice President of the Southwest Florida Honor Flight established to transport Veterans to Washington, DC to be honored at their memorial.

Liz specializes in exemplary patient care, including AHCA and VA regulatory compliance, budget management, life safety compliance specializing in disasters, she regularly attends annual training sessions of the Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) showcasing geriatric trends, such as person-centered care , wellness, and positive evidenced-based practices for long-term care.

The Gardens, a not-for-profit, skilled nursing center remains a CMS/ AHCA 5-Star facility, holds the coveted Governor’s Gold Seal of Quality, and has served Winter Park’s seniors population since 1939 with skilled nursing residency services and surgical rehabilitation services. It is a great tribute to The Gardens and to the Winter Park community that Liz has chosen to relocate here using her stellar career of maintaining and growing current levels of excellence and adding innovative improvements drawn from her vast experience.
